ICSQCC begins at Daffodil University

Staff Repoter :: Based on the theme of “Quality Education for Global Peace and Sustainable Development” the 21st International Convention on Students Quality Control Circles-2018 (ICSQCC-2018) began today on May 3 at Ashulia permanent campus of Daffodil International University in the capital. Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM) in association with Daffodil International University (DIU) organized the convention from May 3 to 6, 2018 in Bangladesh. Around 1000 participants including 500 foreign students and delegates from USA, UK, India, Srilanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Mauritius and other countries are participating in the convention.
Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, Daffodil International University inaugurated the 4-day convention on May 3 as the chief guest while Mr. David Collingwood Hutchin, Director General of World Council for Total Quality & Excellence in Education (WCTQEE) delivered the keynote presentation at the inaugural ceremony. The inaugural ceremony was also addressed by Dr. Jagadish Gandhi, Chairman, WCTQEE, Dr. Mrs. Vineeta Kamran, Executive Director, WCTQEE, Prof. Dr. Yousuf M islam, Vice Chancellor, Daffodil International University, Mr. A M M Khairul Bashar, Chairman, Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM) and Professor Dr. M R Kabir, Convener of ICSQCC-2018.
Around 60 student’s quality control circle case study and 13 technical papers relevant to quality education will be presented in the convention. Beside these, 43 team in poster and slogan, 39 team in colas, 29 team in scit,33 team in debate, 28 team in quality quiz and 16
Team will compete in computer programming contest. Moreover, 28 team will compete in world parliamentary format debate in 4 day long convention..
The main objective of the convention is to create awareness about Total Quality Management in Academics and abreast the delegates about the latest development in quality improvement in academics as well as exchange information about implementation of TQM in educational institutions.
Addressing as the chief guest Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, education is the lighthouse of our society. So if the lighthouse is not qualified, the society would not be enlightened. And if the society is not enlightened, state and world would not be enlightened. So we have to give importance on quality and standard education.
Inspiring the students he urged the students to be self -developed and build strong network worldwide. He also urged the students to increase self-confidence. If you can improve yourself the country, society as well as the whole nation will be benefitted.
Reminding the students about the religious custom of every religion Dr. Md. Sabur Khan said, every religion talks about the sustainable development, peace and enrichment which are closely related to quality education. So, first of all we will have to ensure quality education, he added. He thanked the organizers for choosing Bangladesh and Daffodil International University to host this 21st ICSQCC 2018.
