Enabling start-up eco-system first BASIS Director Faruk says

Staff Repoter :: Access to finance for the technology-based enterprises which known as start-up is a must for industry growth, BASIS Director Delwar Hossain Faruk said.

BASIS or Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services will host biennial election ( session 2018-20) on March 31. Some 40 candidates are contesting for nine positions in three panels.

Delwar Hossain Faruk, chairman of Radisson Digital, is contesting in the election from the panel Team Horizon led by MetroNet Managing Director Syed Almas Kabir.

The young tech entrepreneurs want to stand beside the start-up and work for access to finance for them to promote innovations.

“There are different funds for start-ups in public and private sector. We know about the EF or Entrepreneurial Fund of the government. I have worked with member companies as role in chair of Members’ Welfare Standing Committee of the trade body,” Faruk added.

He said, the organization has agreements with different financial institutions including Shahjalal Islami Bank which pave the way to issue maximum Tk 10 lakh funds for start-ups without any security money.

“The talent and innovation of our youth is remarkable. They can go a long way if they get a joint collaboration. Startup Bangladesh initiative has already been taken to develop a startup culture in the country,”

Under this project, there are co-working spaces, mentoring and startup training in addition to the start-up financial support. Apart from this, efforts are being taken to provide dedicated 28 floors of the country and a dedicated flat for startups in software Technology Park.

BASIS has the opportunity to work again. BASIS will create the opportunity to honor the members. Those who love me and valuable votes will allow me to stay with them.

Faruk said about the possibilities of technology sectors in the country, Basis is the most well-known organization in the field of information technology.

Similarly, the ITS sector can also be mentioned. And these three potential sectors are the organizations representing BASIS.

As a result, it may be possible to work in the development of this industry if desired target. I have been taking part in the BASIS elections for this goal. About 14 years in the field of information technology.
